Open the Device Manager same process they instructed to uninstall the drivers, then insert the SD Card. You may have to click Action and then scan for hardware changes. But you should see a PCI Device show up under Other Devices, then right click and select update driver software and search automatically for updated driver software. In my case it found the Realtek PCIE CardReader software and installed.

I have been having this problem and have tried all of the ideas about reinstalling drivers that I found in these forums, without any luck. One of the previous replies suggested trying an earlier Windows version in compatibility mode. I tried the JMicron driver from Windows 8.1, (under storage). I did not use compatibility mode because I did not know exactly which device uses the driver.
I just downloaded and let it install. I then restarted the laptop (HP 6570b).

I am having trouble installing a card reader driver on my Acer Aspire 5050. The memory card reader is ENE CB714 Cardbus/MediaReader Controller.
